OneTeam College Group Licensing Program
Group licensing is the collective passive use of name, image, and likeness (NIL) rights to create products. Brands like Fanatics, Nike, adidas, Under Armour, EA, 2K, Panini, and Topps rely on group licensing programs to bring NIL products to market across professional and college sports. Through OneTeam’s group licensing programs, college athletes have the opportunity to be included and compensated for the use of their NIL in categories such as video games, trading cards, jerseys, NFTs and other merchandise. OneTeam already works on behalf of tens of thousands of collegiate athletes, now with products sold nationwide!
OneTeam has extensive experience in the professional space, working across professional football, baseball, basketball, soccer, and rugby, and is excited to bring group licensing to the collegiate space
OneTeam negotiates with brands on the behalf of athletes to maximize collective value
Group licensing deals are the same for all of the athletes included
Our GLA is completely non-exclusive – it does not restrict or conflict with individual marketing opportunities or other group licensing opportunities
OneTeam is partnered with leaders in the college athletics:
Fanatics & OneTeam Partners’ NIL Jersey Collaboration Kicks Off
No. The group licensing model has been successful in the professional space, and it is how companies like EA Sports, Panini, Nike, adidas, Under Armour, and Fanatics add athlete NIL to products. Professional athletes participate in and profit from group licensing and 100% of the players in the NFL, MLB, WNBA, and MLSPA participate in their respective group licensing programs, all represented by OneTeam. Now it’s your turn.
No. Group licensing does not restrict you from any individual marketing or endorsement opportunities. You may do as many additional marketing deals as you wish to pursue.
We will work with companies that have a license with your school to do cobranded products. For example, we have already signed an agreement with Panini America, the exclusive college trading card company for schools, to include college athlete NIL like yours on those cards. To be eligible to be on a Panini trading card, you need to sign up with OneTeam.
Your compensation will be based on sales of products that contain your name, image or likeness. If it is feasible to track sales specific to your NIL, like in the case of jerseys, you will receive a share specific to those sales. If it is not possible to identify individual sales, like in the case of video games, then revenue will be divided equally among the athletes included in each licensing program. As is customary on the professional side, OneTeam will retain a portion (30%) of the revenue for its services (e.g., managing the group licensing program, negotiating licensing deals, managing NIL approvals, protecting athlete NIL, etc.).
